PTE Describe Image Random Images
PTE Describe Image is an important speaking task in the PTE Academic test. You will see an image and have 25 seconds to study it before speaking for up to 40 seconds. The image may be a chart, graph, map, diagram, process, or picture.
These random images are designed to help you practise different types of visual information. Instead of trying to describe every detail, focus on the main idea, important features, comparisons, trends, and a clear overall statement.
How to Approach the Image
When you see the image, take a few seconds to understand what it is showing. Do not try to describe every small detail. Instead, focus on the main idea and the most noticeable features.
First, identify the type of image, such as a graph, chart, map, process, diagram, or picture. Then look for the important information you can explain easily. If the image shows numbers or changes, mention the highest and lowest points or any clear differences. For a process, follow the stages from beginning to end.
During your response, start by introducing the image, describe the main features, and finish with a short overall statement. Try to keep your sentences simple and speak naturally rather than trying to remember a long answer.
